Karla is a Dale Tú Meta Creator who writes and directs comedies and dramas for film and live performances, discussing the intricacies of life, self-growth, and societal expectations from varying perspectives. She has been recognized by Women in Film LA and the 48-Hour Film Project as Woman Filmmaker of the Year and has been placed as a finalist in festivals such as the Toronto International Women Film Festival and Austin Comedy Film Festival. Her feature-length script “Keeping It Together” has placed as a Semifinalist in the LA International Screenplay Awards and Quarterfinalist in the LA International Screen Play Awards – Diversity Initiative.
As a current cast member of one of The Pack Theater’s house sketch teams, Wiggle Room, and as an independent stand-up comedian and monologist, she performs live, monthly, throughout Los Angeles. Her current Youtube Mockumentary Shorts Series “BTS Exclusive” can be seen here!
